Location Scouting- Dunton Green

Our group went to look at the residential area in Dunton Green to see how we can film our opening scene.

We plan on using the cafe to get interior shots. The owner of the cafe gave us permission to film in his cafe when we needed to.

The cafe has a large window which is exactly what we need
to shoot our scene. The atmosphere of the cafe is calm with music playing in the background which is the complete opposite to what's happening outside.

We also looked at the residential area where there a 'obstacles' that we could use such as bollards. There are also fences that we could use for the brothers to jump over.
The area is not as busy compared to other places which is an advantage as it would be easier for us to shoot without disturbing anyone.

There were some railings but it was not steep enough to be used for sliding down. Also, it is located near the bath store and wine shop which is not relevant to our scene.
Next time, we will look around Tonbridge to see if there are other possibilities. But it would be easier to stay in one location so that it won't get complicated.

Once deciding on using the location in Dunton Green we went again to understand how the location will work and where all the scenes would happen. I decided to take the photos of the location and put them in the best sort of working order for the opening scene to happen in.

Whilst going around the location I realised that it would be better to use the playground fence instead of the white fence for continuity purposes.

Also when walking around we made a couple of videos of ideas and below is a video idea of the trolley scene where the trolley would go where the space next to the house is.

Finally, an obstacle that we came across was the way in which we get the café scene into the rest of the opening scene in order for it to be continuous. One of the ways we thought we could come over this problem was by having the café scene closer to the end when they run to the main road in order for the opening scene to be continuous and the style of the buildings would then match well.
